Hospital lighting upgrade cuts energy bills by 50%

LED lighting has proved to be a popular choice within a North Somerset hospital lighting upgrade.

Clevedon Community Hospital which is operated by North Somerset Community Partnership, has undergone an extensive upgrade and is now home to a collection of LED products contributing to an impressive refurbishment and a significant 50% reduction in energy bills.

Healthcare lighting within the hospital has been granted a bright boost with numerous LED products from Dextra Lighting selected for the £17,000 upgrade.

Hospital wards are now home to the popular Graduate LEDThe wards and hospital entrance now enjoy upgraded hospital lights, utilising the benefits of the popular Graduate LED.

The double-switched Graduate LED was fitted and combined alongside a night light in the wards and integral emergency in both the wards and hospital entrance.

The Graduate LED offers lighting solutions for various environments and is already proving to be a popular lighting choice within a number of projects across the UK, benefiting healthcare settings, academic environments and the commercial lighting sector, emphasising the product’s popularity, flexibility and versatility.

A host of lighting functions can be selected to suit the individual working environment and the Graduate LED is available with switch dimming, analogue dimming or DALI dimming functions. Standard, self test and auto-test categories are available within the emergency options, emphasising a range of Graduate LED features.

Offering superior energy efficiency combined with an extended lifetime, the LED lighting design offers an optional integral microwave sensor and bright out control, further increasing energy saving potential.

Hospital circulation areas now benefit from the Amenity LED product combined with integral emergency. The product offers 1500 lumen output and light output ratios in excess of 80%, boasting the same performance as a 28W 2D luminaire but benefits from an extended lifetime, alongside a 5 yThe Hydra LED gives the kitchen a bright boostear warranty and significantly lower energy consumption.

Suitable for numerous applications which include utility areas, stairwells and corridors, the Amenity LED boasts a sensor controlled lighting option with an integral sensor, emergency, corridor mode or dimming options, offering a customized luminaire to meet the requirements of any project.

The hospital kitchens are now home to the Hydra LED combined with integral emergency. The product is supplied with stainless steel clips and screws are are offered with a range of dimming variants and integral three hour emergency, as with this project. Applications which can benefit from this product include utility areas, garages, factories and workshops.
